speaking out about their very public break-up.
Why go on YouTube.com to present your side? Why not just issue a joint press release?
Jesse: We were going to do that, but some people found out [before we wanted]. The easiest thing seemed to be to hop on the webcam and put it on YouTube.com. I did it because I wanted to tell the fans what happened. [DeAnna and I] have gone our separate ways. I love her and I wish her nothing but the best. I felt that thats what I portrayed on YouTube and I hope thats the way it was taken.
Did going on-camera allow you to express more how you truly felt?
Jesse: Yeah. I figured theres no better way to tell someone how you feel than to get out there and look right into the screen and say this is whats going on. I spoke to the fans about how I was really feeling. I didnt discuss anything about what had gone on [privately]. The answer I got [from DeAnna] was that she loved me, but t in love with me. Thats what she told me.
TVGuide.com: Can true love be found on a reality show?
Jesse: Originally, I thought it was the dumbest idea on the planet. Go on TV and fall in love? The fact that I actually did fall in love proves that you can fall in love on those shows.
TVGuide.com: I interviewed Deanna just before the show premiered. Contractually, she couldnt say if she was in love, but she couldnt exactly hide it either.
Jesse: We were definitely both super happy [at one point]. We couldnt have been happier. We went from calling the producers every day [to find out] when we could be together to being together 24/7. We never get to fit into a daily schedule.
TVGuide.com: Have you and DeAnna stayed in touch?
Jesse: Were doing a little bit of text messaging here and there. Mostly, were giving each other some much needed space. I think we will definitely be friends [someday]. I love her very much and I hope shes happy.
TVGuide.com: Would you do another show, say, maybe The Bachelor?
Jesse: If they offered it to me and I had the opportunity to fall in love again, I think Id definitely consider it.
We wish nothing but the best for Jesse.

LINKIN PARK - HANDS HELD HIGH
Turn my mike up louder I got to say something
Light weights step to the side when we come in
Feel it in your chest the syllables get pumping
People on the street they panic and start running
Words on loose leaf sheet complete coming
I jump in my mind and summon the rhyme, Im dumping
Healing the blind I promise to let the sun in
Sick of the dark ways we march to the drum and
Jump when they tell us that they wanna see jumping
Fuck that I wanna see some fists pumping
Risk something, take back whats yours
Say something that you know they might attack you for
Cause Im sick of being treated like I have before
Like its stupid standing for what Im standing for
Like this wars really just a different brand of war
Like it doesnt cater the rich and abandon poor
Like they understand you in the back of the jet
When you cant put gas in your tank
These fuckers are laughing their way to the bank and cashing the cheque
Asking you to have compassion and have some respect
For a leader so nervous in an obvious way
Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay
And the rest of the world watching at the end of the day
In their living room laughing like what did he say?
[Chorus:]
Amen
Amen
Amen
Amen
Amen
In my living room watching but I am not laughing
Cause when it gets tense I know what might happen
World is cold the bold men take action
Have to react or get blown into fractions
Ten years old its something to see
Another kid my age drugged under a jeep
Taken and bound and found later under a tree
I wonder if he had thought the next one could be me
Do you see the soldiers theyre out today
They brush the dust from bullet proof vests away
Its ironic at times like this you pray
But a bomb blew the mosque up yesterday
Theres bombs in the buses, bikes, roads
Inside your market, your shops, your clothes
My dad hes got a lot of fear I know
But enough pride inside not to let that show
My brother had a book he would hold with pride
A little red cover with a broken spine
On the back, he hand-wrote a quote inside
When the rich wage war its the poor who die
Meanwhile, the leader just talks away
Stuttering and mumbling for nightly news to replay
And the rest of the world watching at the end of the day
both scared and angry like what did he say?
[Chorus x6]
[x6]
With hands held high into the sky so blue,
As the ocean opens up to swallow you.

Harmony Monday - Linkin Park

Today the Detroit Lions traded former first round draft choice Roy Williams to the to the Dallas Cowboys right before the trade deadline. Roy is in his last year of his contract and has pretty much stated that he would not resign with the Lions. Sure, the Lions could have franchised him, but that would mean that he would be paid the average of the top five wide receivers in the league. If the Lions were to do that, would Roy be worth the money spent on him. I don't think so.

Let's see what he does now that he is with a new team. Don't get me wrong, he is an exciting and still young player, but the Cowboys sure paid a lot for him. To get him, the Cowboys traded their first-round pick, third-round pick, and a sixth-round pick in the 2009 draft. The Cowboys also get the Lions seventh-round pick in addition to Williams.

There is a huge risk with obtaining Roy since he has a huge ego. He has the habit of flashing the first down sign even though the Lions are routinely getting killed. He also complains about not getting the ball enough and demands the ball even though he is the number two receiver on the Lions. On the Cowboys team, he is still is the number two receiver behind Terrell Owens. If things don't go well for the Cowboys they will not only have to contend with TO mouthing off but now also Roy.

If thing go well then, when TO is getting double teamed it will leave Roy with single coverage and a good quarterback getting him the ball. Only time will tell and at least for the next five years we will have plenty of time to see if it was a good or bad trade for the Cowboys.

For the Lions who are in total disarray again, this should attract a top flight General Manager to the franchise as they will have 5 of the top 100 draft picks in next years draft. This should be a quick way to infuse additional talent to a team lacking in so many areas.

When Coldplay sampled Kraftwerk on their third album, XY, it was a signifier for the British band, telegraphing their classicist good taste while signaling how they prefer the eternally hip to the truly adventurous; it was stylish window dressing for soft arena rock. Hiring Brian Eno to produce the bulk of their fourth album, Viva la Vida, is another matter entirely. Eno pushes them, not necessarily to experiment but rather to focus and refine, to not leave their comfort zone but to find some tremulous discomfort within it. In his hands, this most staid of bands looks to shake things up, albeit politely, but such good manners are so inherent to Coldplay's DNA that they remain courteous even when they experiment. With his big-budget production, Eno has a knack for amplifying an artist's personality, as he allows bands to be just as risky as they want to be -- which is quite a lot in the case of U2 and James and even Paul Simon, but not quite so much with Coldplay. And yet this gentle encouragement -- he's almost a kindly uncle giving his nephews permission to rummage through his study -- pays great dividends for Coldplay, as it winds up changing the specifics without altering the core. They wind up with the same self-styled grandiosity; they've just found a more interesting way to get to the same point.

Gone are Chris Martin's piano recitals and gone are the washes of meticulously majestic guitar, replaced by orchestrations of sound, sometimes literally consisting of strings but usually a tapestry of synthesizers, percussion, organs, electronics, and guitars that avoid playing riffs. Gone too are simpering schoolboy ballads like "Fix You," and along with them the soaring melodies designed to fill arenas. In fact, there are no insistent hooks to be found anywhere on Viva la Vida, and there are no clear singles in this collection of insinuatingly ingratiating songs. This reliance on elliptical melodies isn't off-putting -- alienation is alien to Coldplay -- and this is where Eno's guidance pays off, as he helps sculpt Viva la Vida to work as a musical whole, where there are long stretches of instrumentals and where only "Strawberry Swing," with its light, gently infectious melody and insistent rhythmic pulse, breaks from the album's appealingly meditative murk. Whatever iciness there is to the sound of Viva la Vida is warmed by Martin's voice, but the music is by design an heir to the earnest British art rock of '80s Peter Gabriel and U2 -- arty enough to convey sober intelligence without seeming snobby, the kind of album that deserves to take its title from Frida Kahlo and album art from Eugene Delacroix. That Delacroix painting depicts the French Revolution, so it does fit that Martin tones down his relentless self-obsession -- the songs aren't heavy on lyrics and some are shockingly written in character -- which is a development as welcome as the expanded sonic palette. Martin's refined writing topics may be outpaced by the band's guided adventure, but they're both indicative that Coldplay are desperate to not just strive for the title of great band -- a title they seem to believe that they're to the manor born -- but to actually burrow into the explorative work of creating music. And so the greatest thing Coldplay may have learned from Eno is his work ethic, as they demonstrate a focused concentration throughout this tight album -- it's only 47 minutes yet covers more ground than XY and arguably A Rush of Blood to the Head -- that turns Viva la Vida into something quietly satisfying.

Linkin Park Cancels Asia Tour

  • Oct. 8th, 2008 at 3:51 AM

Shanghai Daily: A bunch of hard rockers, an edgy pop-rock chick and a classy jazz crooner are set to return to the city next month to play sell-out concerts. American group Linkin Park is one of the most popular Western rock bands in China, Canadian Avril Lavigne wowed audiences in Shanghai last year while jazz diva Diana Krall has a big fan base here.

"We liked our experience in China last year a lot," says Linkin Park MC and vocalist Mike Shinoda. "The Shanghai concert was one of the best concerts and one we were really proud of."

The band will rock the stage at Shanghai Stadium on October 12, joined by Taiwan's most popular rock band, May Day, for a three-hour non-stop concert. Each band will perform a 90-minute set.

"We like to choose a band with a distinctive style," Shinoda says when asked about the upcoming collaboration. "We are sure it will be interesting. We were told the majority of May Day's fans are girls while most of our fans in China are guys. So we'd like to see couples coming to our concert."

The concert is also part of Linkin Park's first-ever Music For Relief tour. The band established MFR in 2005 to help aid victims of world catastrophes and combat global warming.

Since its inception, the foundation has raised more than US$3 million for the victims of the tsunami tragedy in Southeast Asia, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the Southern California bushfires, among others and planted more than 809,000 trees to help reduce global warming.

A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold in China will be donated to the charity and the World Bank will match the total funds raised.

All monies will be donated to China Development Market, an initiative by the World Bank which will distribute the funds to help tackle the consequences of the devastating earthquake in Sichuan Province on May 12.

"We feel extremely excited and proud being able to come back with our Music For Relief concerts," says Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington. "We hope our efforts can raise more public awareness about the reconstruction work ahead in Sichuan and really provide assistance to the victims."

One of the past decade's most popular international rock bands, Linkin Park features Bennington (vocals), Shinoda (vocals), Rob Bourdon (drums), Brad Delson (guitar), Joe Hahn (DJ) and Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (bass).

The group has won two Grammy Awards, for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2002 with their hit single "Crawling" and for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with Jay-Z in 2006 for the innovative "Numb/Encore."

They have sold more than 50 million records worldwide since their debut in 2000. Their debut album "Hybrid Theory" alone sold more than 18 million copies.

Recognized for their adaptation of the "nu" metal and rap rock genre into a radio-friendly style in "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora," Linkin Park explored a variety of other genres in their latest studio album, "Minutes to Midnight."

"It's of crucial importance for the band to always find new inspirations before starting work on a new album," Shinoda says.

"This is really unique for us as we've been together as a band for 10 years and sort of recognizable in the market. However, we always want new ideas and concepts, it's in our blood."
Linkin Park and May Day
Date: October 12, 7pm
Tickets: 100-1,600 yuan
Venue: Shanghai Stadium, 666 Tianyaoqiao Rd.

By Rashell(noreply@blogger.com) Don't worry, its nothing difficult. My Wikipedia page needs help, and I'd love it if you could help me fix it. 1.) Busta Rhymes feat. Linkin Park "We Made It" (co-produced with Cool Dre and Timbaland) -- incorrect: Timbaland was not involved in the track. The track was produced by me + Cool Dre. 2.) It says, "In 2003, Mike was asked to be featured on Evanescence's single "Bring Me to Life," as stated by fellow band member Chester Bennington in a magazine interview. In the end, Paul McCoy of 12 Stones recorded the vocals instead." I don't remember this being said, but even if it was...I was never asked to be on any Evanescence music. Even if Chester said it, this part isn't true (we all make mistakes).

Aleister Crowley is probably one of the most villainous occultists in the world, and this stone farmhouse, stuffed with solemn pagan frescoes had once served as the world capital of the Satanic orgies. At least, people thought this way in 1920s.Crowley is mainly famous for its fans like Marilyn Manson and for the fact that he appeared on the cover of the album Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. Crowley founded the Thelema Abbey named after the Utopia described in Rabelais novel . Its motto was Do what you want. The place became the commune of the free love. The newcomers had to spend a might in the Horror room, where filled with heroine and marijuana they stared at frescoes picturing earth, skies and hell. After a popular English dandy had died in the Abby, the press blew a scandal and forced Mussolini to close it. A notorious underground director unearthed this story in 1945 and shot a movie that later on disappeared in a mysterious way. Nowadays, the abbey is half-destroyed and overgrown with grass. However, there are a few intact frescoes inside by means of which Crowley used to intimidate his followers.Tourists who are inclined to esoteric things may wonder and tickle their nerves there.

Linkin Park - Live in Texas (DVD) (Concert)

  • Jul. 27th, 2008 at 12:21 AM

Street Drum Corps Brings the Noise This Summer on Projekt Revolution Tour
Special Drumline Contest and Mainstage Set Precedes New Album Due Out on Interscope 09
From John Bonham to Clyde Stubblefield to ?uestlove, the drum has always been the backbone of any successful group. Hell, go further back in time, when drums were at the center of any tribal ritual. It’s carnal. Primeval. A good song hits you in the head. A good beat nails you in the stomach. So in an era of squeaky-clean, technologically-enhanced and polished production, Los Angeles’ Street Drum Corps (SDC) are more important than ever.
Kevin Lyman, founder of the Vans Warped Tour, summed SDC up perfectly when he called them a “punk rockStomp.” Trash cans. Barrels. Buckets. It’s all fair game for brothers Bobby Adam Alt and Frank Zummo, who furnish their live sets completely with used and found instruments.
Having honed and evolved their rock-band-meets-performance-art set for more than four years, playing shows at countless festivals in countless countries, the trio is currently prepping both a new studio album on Interscope Records (their follow-up to 2006’sWe Are Machines) and summer shows on Linkin Park’s highly successful Projekt Revolution tour starting July 16 at Mansfield, MA’s Tweeter Center.
If you’ve seen them live before, you already know SDC’s shows are a primordial, stomping blast of energy, theatricality and passion. There’s a reason why members of No Doubt, Bad Religion, and Revolution tourmates Atreyu all want to play with them. Why Conan O’Brien invited them to perform on his show. And why The Used’s Bert McCracken has practically adopted them as his pet band.
SDC’s diverse and vast tourmates—which include everyone from Matisyahu to The Deftones to 30 Seconds to Mars—are direct proof that the trio can survive and thrive in virtually any crowd. Unlike so many bands whose music automatically pigeonholes them to certain festivals, SDC have proven that words like “demographic” and “target audience” don’t apply to them. To Street Drum Corps, the only target audience is anyone who appreciates unique performances and raucous, energetic music. SDC are more concerned with rhythm than genre. In their performances, one hears tribal, rock, punk, dance and industrial, all somehow blending together in a chaotic, beautiful mess.
Now, after conquering Warped Tour, Coachella, A Taste of Chaos, and any other tour that’s gotten in their way, the trio is set to perform on the Main Stage at Projekt Revolution alongside Chris Cornell, Busta Rhymes, The Bravery and Linkin Park. In addition to introducing Linkin Park (in their own inimitable way), the group has been personally invited to perform select songs with the headliners.
Hearkening back to the past when shaman fed off the energy of the tribe’s participants, the group will also be introducing a special contest where one winner per show will get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lead a drumline with SDC from the second stage direct to the main stage. Stay tuned for more details.
Formed in 2004, Bobby and Adam Alt originally started Experiment, a drum troupe that performed mostly to elementary schools. After hooking up with Zummo, the three decided to take breaks from their respective drumming gigs and became Street Drum Corps, playing their debut gig at Magic Mountain. After near-constant touring, the group hooked up with House of Pain’s DJ Lethal, who produced their 2006 self-titled debut CD/DVD (Warcon Enterprises) featuring “Achilles” with Stomp’s John Sawicki. Since then, their music has appeared on such shows as “Inked,” “The Real World” and “Love Monkey,” and the group recently recorded a cover of John Lennon’s “Happy Christmas (War is Over)” with The Used’s Bert McCracken.
