Coffee shops have become our home away from home, dorm away from dorm, office away from office. Who among us has not contributed to this phenomenon? I am as guilty as any, having taken up lodging for hours at a time. And during the course of this coffee house citizenship, I have seen much. Things I have witnessed people doing at coffee shops include: clipping their fingernails (New York City, East Village Starbucks), rounding second base (Austin, Kick Butt Coffee) and making important business decisions for all to hear (London, Oxford Circus Starbucks.)
But, based on absolutely no empirical research and a lot of idle speculation, I'm here to posit that the thing that occurs most frequently in coffee shops is this: assholes reading books. Sure, the asshole might like his or her book but more importantly, the asshole wants you to like his or her book. Or, rather, the asshole wants you to either have never heard of his or her book so that he or she may continue to gloat in superiority while sipping $4 coffee, or the asshole wants you to be the only other (hot, sexy) asshole in the world who knows and loves this book. 'Tis the ubiquitous asshole mating call.
I'm happy to share my research with you today. Please enjoy the rampant self-loathing in "The Top 10 Books Assholes Read At Coffee Shops.

Never really said too much
Afraid it wouldnt be enough
Just try to keep my spirits up
When theres no point in grieving
Doesnt matter anyway
Words could never make me stay
Words will never take my place
When you know Im leaving

[Chorus]
Try to leave a light on when Im gone
Something I rely on to get home
One I can feel at night
A naked light, a fire to keep me warm
Try to leave a light on when Im gone
Even in the daylight, shine on
And when its late at night you can look inside
You wont feel so alone

You know weve been down that road
What seems a thousand times before
My back to a closing door and my eyes to the seasons
That roll out underneath my heels
And you dont know how bad it feels
To leave the only one that I have ever believed in

[Chorus]
Try to leave a light on when Im gone
Something I rely on to get home
One I can feel at night
A naked light, a fire to keep me warm
Try to leave a light on when Im gone
Even in the daylight, shine on
And when its late at night you can look inside
You wont feel so alone

Sometimes it feels like weve run out of luck
When the signal keeps on breaking up
When the wires cross in my brain
Youll start my heart again
When I come along

[Chorus]
Try to leave a light on when Im gone
Something I rely on to get home
One I can feel at night
A naked light, a fire to keep me warm
Try to leave a light on when Im gone
Even in the daylight, shine on
And when its late at night you can look inside
You wont feel so alone

Try to leave a light on when Im gone
Even in the daylight, shine on
And when its late at night you can look inside
You wont feel so alone

Over the years, working for MTV News and even before I landed this gig, Ive interviewed a lot of celebrities. Its one of the perks of the job, interviewing people whose work youve always admired (which, for me, would include any of the members of Janes Addiction, Mike Patton, Carcass and Portishead) at times, you even get to speak to those whose work you dont admire (like, say, Hinder).
Id say about 40 percent of the interviews Ive done have been in person an artist is in town and theyve got something to promote, so they swing by our Times Square offices for a little face time. The rest of them are what we in the biz call and these interviews involve calling the subject at his or her home or hotel room to talk shop. These types of interviews are less controlled, basically because theres no publicist around to interfere. But these types of interviews are also just like any other phone conversation youve ever had call waiting can disrupt the flow of conversation just as easily as a screaming child or a misbehaving pet.

MILFs, Asians, midgets, feet, etc. Some are sexy, some are funny, and someare just flat out wrong. Take, for example, the fetish of mothers seducing their sons. The mere concept of mothers having sex with their sons disgusts us. However, were not above finding the 6 Photos That Look Like They Would Fit The Headline Mother Seduces Son and sharing them with you because, well, its a pretty damn funny list. And yes, we are probably going to hell. Enjoy.

Monster is an album by the band Steppenwolf, released in 1969 (see 1969 in music) and was their first LP with new lead guitarist, Larry Byrom instead of Michael Monarch. The title refers to the contemporary politics and state of the U.S.
The title refers to the contemporary politics and state of the U.S., as in the lyrics to the title song:
The cities have turned into jungles,
and corruption is stranglin the land.
The police force is watching the people,
and the people just cant understand.
We dont know how to mind our own business,
cause the whole worlds got to be just like us.
Now we are fighting a war over there.
No matter whos the winner, we cant pay the cost.
Cause theres a monster on the loose,
its got our heads into the noose.
And it just sits there watching.
The album was the first Steppenwolf album not to feature a US top ten hit, and can thus be seen as the beginning of their slow fall from fame. Even though this album, , Steppenwolf 7 and For Ladies Only are today seen as making up the latter half of their ultimate prime, their days of Born to Be Wild-like fame were over. Still two singles from the album cracked the top 40, and Steppenwolf would continue landing albums in the US top 20 for a while yet, a factor that became more and more important during this time.
As seen above, the title track is a call for pacifism and a more ethical society. The tone, which can be seen as very provocative towards the political decisions of the US at the time, continues with Draft Resister, which glorifies draft resisters as heroes.

Far have been one of my favorite bands for a really long time, actually. I saw them on tour in their earlier states, before Immortal/Epic, before everything. They had such a force in their music, it was so amazing. Then I saw this release, Water And Solutions in a local record store, and I picked it up. This music is some of the best you will ever hear, and you will be easily be moved. The band are all great, especially Shaun, whose guitar work is chaotic, but always ends up being some of the most harmonic I have ever heard. And then, there's Jonah. He is a simple guy, and he is the best lyricist I have ever heard, period. He makes the whole album worth it. All of the lyrics I can relate to, and they are also optimistic and describe events that should be happening in life, but aren't. No one has inspired me more than Far, and I really suggest this if you are into any kind of non-MTV rock. Overall, Water and Solutions is a hard working, inspirational record. Every song is really exceptionally great, and I mean that honestly, serious. I have heard this called metal, rock, emo, and many more, but in truth, this is one of a kind. I love songs like "Water And Solutions," "Mother Mary," and "Another Way Out," and "Man Overboard." You can fall asleep to this, but this isn't sleepy at all. It is so great I can't explain it. I'm sorry. This could very well be the best record I have ever purchased, and I am once again totally serious. I listen to this at least every day, and I still love every riff, quote, beat, chorus, and bass lick I hear. Nothing will move you like Far, and that's my basic explaination on why you should buy this album sometime in your life before you die. You will be missing out on finding yourself if you don't. The first time I heard the title track was so moving, it is really hard to explain. I was just sitting on my couch, listening to this for the first time, and I had that song on. When it gets to the part where Jonah sings, "Soon...my doubles will pull all my stunts", I just broke into this euphoric laugh and mood. I was so happy, it was unexplainable. It felt so good, so right. It was like I found my soul. So amazing, true story. I hope they start playing together again.

Over 100 Dionne Warwick tracks with rare photos on Dibotis' Dionne Warwick Channel. Check them out! "Heartbreaker", a 1982 hit written by The Bee Gees' Barry, Maurice, and Robin Gibb, became one of Dionne's biggest international hits, peaking on Billboard's Hot 100 at #10 in January 1983 and #1 AC in the USA and #2 in the UK. Internationally, the tune was also a smash in continential Europe, Australia, Japan, South Africa, South America, Eastern Europe, Canada, and Asia. The track was taken from the album Heartbreaker which to date has sold over 3 million internationally and earned Dionne an RIAA USA gold record award for the album. The album peaked at #25 on the Hot 100 Album Chart, #13 on the R B Chart and #3 in the UK. Dionne stated to Wesley Hyatt in his The Billboard Book of Number One Adult Contemporary Hits that she was not fond of "Heartbreaker," but recorded the tune because she trusted the Bee Gees' judgment that it would be a hit. How did the project come about? The legendary Clive Davis was attending his aunt's wedding in Florida and spoke with Barry Gibb. Barry mentioned that he had always been a fan of Dionne's and Clive arranged for Dionne and the BeeGees to discuss a project. Dionne and the brothers Gibb hit it off and the album "Heartbreaker" and the title single was released in October 1982.

Although we assume most users already know - 'Did you know you can resize all the images on Perfect People with simple keystrokes and/or clicks?' That's right! We've tweaked the little box in the image details. This lets you either press the keys on your keyboard or click on the links themselves to either enlarge, shrink, or justify any image. Justifying means equating it to your browser window - this can be used to enlarge small images so you can get every little detail, or shrink massive images where all you see is a shoe.
